PALMAROSA
Also called Rosha or Rusha (Cymbopogon martinii, anthropogon martinii)
Produced from the leaves of the grass, in Nepal, Asia and Brazil. Steam distilled, it is commonly used to adulterate rose oil.
SAFETY: Safe at normal dosage. Classification: alcohol, ester
USAGE HISTORY: Greatly used in the cosmetic and fragrance industries, it has more recently become a popular aromatherapy oil. The grass is native to Asia.
PROPERTIES:
- Internal-oral, suppository; topical; inhalation
- A great skin treatment oil, moisturizing and regenerating to skin, treats acne, staph infection, wet eczema, wrinkles, dermatitis, cradle cap (combined with eucalyptus), diaper rash, scarring, good skin toner (Antibacterial, antifungal, cicatrizant, emollient, regenerator)
- Good immune stimulant, treatment and preventative for viral infections, sinusitis, otitis, bronchitis, sore throat (Antiviral, antiseptic, tonic, febrifuge)
- Balances thyroid production
- Digestive tonic, relieves intestinal infection, treats E. coli, anorexia, worms or parasites.
- Uterine tonic, eases labor, treatment for cervical, vaginal, and urethra infections, inhibits passage of bacterial infection from one partner to another when applied topically before intercourse
- Dilates vessels, may assist with cardiac fatigue
