PETITGRAIN (Citrus aurantium var. amara, C. bigaradia)

Distilled from the leaves of the bitter orange, it is produced in Italy and many countries in Africa, Asia, and the Mediterranean.

USAGE HISTORY: Developed for the fragrance industry, it is a fairly new oil to aromatherapy market.

PROPERTIES:

  • Internal-oral; topical; inhalation
  • Relaxes muscle spasm, hiccups, nervous spasm, cardiovascular spasm and heart palpitations, eases joint inflammations and arthritis (Antispasmodic, anti-inflammative)
  • Immune stimulant (Antiseptic, antibacterial, treats staph and pneumococcus)
  • Skin regerator, helps acne, dry and oily skin, reduces excessive perspiration, tones skin, useful deodorant, stimulates tissue regrowth (Astringent)
