1. Insert bolus at night when going to sleep.
Insert with fingers, gently pushing the bolus deeply enough into the rectum or vagina so that it does not attempt to pop back out. Wear a sanitary pad or brief-type underwear to contain any leakage. Leakage will stain. If you are sensitive or suspect that your body is very toxic, cut the boluses in half and use only half for a treatment. (This is also recommended if you experience severe cleansing symptoms with whole boluses).
2. Rinse in the morning.
Use a douche bag or a Fleet enema filled with warm water to rinse the residue. (This can be done in the shower.)
3. Start out with one bolus every other day, gradually working up to three days in a row.
Start out slowly to see how your body is going to handle it. If you begin to experience lots of congestion, diarrhea, headaches or cleansing symptoms, slow down and do a treatment every other day or every third day until you find the right pace for your body. Some people are best to begin by cutting the boluses in half and using 1/2 at a time.
4. Observe the residue.
Watch for unusual bowel movements and unusual vaginal discharge. If you have fibroid tumors, blood stagnation, or pre-cancerous conditions in the abdominal organs, it is likely that you will see bleeding or other heavy discharge between periods. If you have heavy metal accumulation in the digestive tract (such as barium) you may see a white or yellowish stool. Often this is accompanied by a strong headache before it is expelled. Many people actually experience the expelling of tumors, parasites, or decayed matter.
5. Listen to your body.
An indigenous elder once gave me a gem of truth. She said that true healing does not occur once the threshold of resistance has been crossed. I believe she was right. If your body becomes resistant to any form of treatment, it is no longer helping. At that time, it is best to stop and wait awhile or seek another way.
If you pay attention, you will feel your body’s response to the treatments. At times you may be able to press ahead with more, and at other times you must slow down or stop for awhile. Let your comfort level be your guide on this. If you are experiencing discomfort, slow down, use 1/2 boluses, or stop for a time and start up again later.
6. Other forms of support.
It is important to get good nutrition while you are using herbal boluses. Though the herbs provide both nourishing and cleansing aspects, it is still important to eat a proper diet so that everything is available for your body to build healthy cells. Some key aspects are: Protein, mineral supplementation, grains, warm foods (not cold), and juices or teas.
Elimination or limitation of refined sugars and carbohydrates, coffee, alcohol, and stimulants, dairy products except yogurt and kefir, canned foods, and fried or fatty foods is also necessary. If you are dealing with candida albicans, fruits must also be limited. And remember to drink plenty of pure water to flush toxicity out of your system quickly.
Be sure to include herbal teas or tonics, energy body therapies such as acupuncture, chi gong, yoga, vibrational therapy, flower essence or homeopathic therapy, etc. in your total healing program. Chronic conditions have emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects that need to be addressed as well in order to change the cause of the dis-ease.
