Neem (Azadicha indica)

Neem seed oil has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 6,000 years.  It has so many medicinal uses that the neem tree is known as the “village pharmacy”.   Ours is extracted with hypercritical CO2 at very low temperatures, which produces a superior oil with an aroma more true to nature than other extraction techniques.

Neem is a blood cleanser and purifier, and has recently gained popularity for use as a heart strengthener and balancer.   It also provides support to the immune system, with anti-microbial properties that rival the best pharmaceutical medicines.  It has been tested effective against many bacterial infections and viruses, including streptomycin resistant strains.  Some of the microbes it was found effective against are M. tuberculosis, klebsiella pneumoniae, streptococcus mutans, Vaccinia virus, and measles virus.

It has also been used to heal oral tumors, squamous cell carcinoma, and skin cancers.  It is a potent natural form of birth control when applied intra-vaginally before intercourse, and leaves no adverse effects on cervix or vaginal tissues.  Neem oil has so  many diverse uses that it should be a welcome addition to any natural medicine kit.

Energetically, neem opens and expands the hara (tan tien).  When applied to the abdomen before yoga, moving meditation, or tai chi, it creates an energizing and stabilizing effect that nourishes the whole being.  It must be experienced to be fully appreciated.

Many commercially available neem oils have been heated during expeller pressing, or solvent extracted.  Our CO2 extracted oil is processed at very low temperatures, creating an aroma that is nearly identical to the seeds’ own aroma.  If you are used to expeller pressed or solvent extracted oils, please be aware that this one’s aroma is quite different.
